Liberty Party in Liberia asks the high court to halt the holding of runoff

Monrovia, 28 Oct. 17. The Liberty party of Charles Brumskine in Liberia has written the Supreme Court of Liberia to put a halt to the holding of the second round of election scheduled for November 7 between soccer legend George Weah and vice President Joseph Boakai.

“The complaint of the Liberty Party is before judge Karbineh Janneh of the Supreme court.” A source close to the office Judge Janneh said.

According to the source, the entire Supreme Court bench has to meet on the complaint before any decision can be taken.

“The entire bench has to meet on the matter before a decision can be taken. The Chief Justice is not here, so it is difficult to say if a decision will be taken before November 7.” The source said.
