Prince Johnson pledges support to the CDC of George Weah

The leader of the Movement for Democracy and Reconciliation, MDR, former warlord Prince Johnson, has announced that he is supporting George Weah for the runoff election in the west African state.

“I am calling on my supporters to join me in supporting George Manneh Weah for the presidency.” Prince Johnson said during a press conference in Monrovia.

The former warlord told journalists that the dream of Liberians will become a reality only if the opposition join their efforts.

“I have always said that Liberia needs change with new vision. The roads leading to our counties are deplorable. I believe that Liberia can find solution to this problem. I also think that Liberia needs security. This include food security, job security and health security. The next government needs to stop the importation of rice and invest in mechanized agriculture to make our country self reliance in food production. I know that no one party can solve all these problems alone. This is why we all must join to make the Liberian dream a reality.” Prince Johnson told journalists.

Justifying his alliance to the Coalition of Democratic Change, CDC, of George Weah, Prince Johnson said he is doing so in consonance with an accord signed between opposition political parties in which they decided to follow any of them who will make it for the second round.

“Opposition parties met in Ganta in the month of September 2016, said meeting gave birth to the Ganta declaration in which we decided to join our forces against the ruling party to commit ourselves to an opposition victory in the 2017 election. I have decided to remain committed to the Ganta declaration.” He said.
